Biography
Marco Betta is an Italian film and opera composer.
He composed among others, the soundtracks for Il Manoscritto del Principe (2000), Viaggio segreto (2006) and Viva la libertà (2013) directed by Roberto Andò, Maria Montessori (2007), Aldo Moro il presidente (2008), Le cose che restano (2010) directd by Gianluca Tavarelli.
Betta has composed various operas and works for musical stage productions such as Il fantasma nella cabina on a text by Andrea Camilleri and libretto by Rocco Mortelliti (Teatro Donizetti Bergamo, Opera di Roma, Teatro del Giglio Lucca, Teatro di Modena, Teatro Vittorio Emanuele Messina) Sette storie per lasciare il mondo - opera for music and film in seven parts di Roberto Andò e Marco Betta performed at Teatro Bellini in Catania (September 2006) and Natura viva opera in one act on a text by Ruggero Cappuccio, performed al 73° Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 2010. In 2004 he composed the music for the soundtrack of the international exhibition dedicated to Perugino, and with Ferruccio Barbera, advertising communicator, creates a soundtrack for the exhibitions "Sicilian Warehouses", "Extra Moenia" of Velasco, and for the advertising campaign of Sicily Region "Grand Tour" 2005. Later worked with Placido Domingo who plays at the Arena di Verona its composition "Corone di pietra" for tenor, chorus and orchestra on a text by Daniele Martino. Among his last works "Il quadro nero" opera for music and movies with Roberto Andò by Renato Guttuso and Andrea Camilleri represented on 7 February 2015 at the Teatro Massimo of Palermo and the work "Notte per me luminosa" on a text by Dario Oliveri dedicated to ' "Orlando furioso" by Ludovico Ariosto staged at the Theatre of Modena on December 2, 2016. His music is published by Ricordi Milan and Casa Musicale Sonzogno.
